Great fire of London day
On Wednesday 25th January we had a full day learning about the Great fire of London.
In the afternoon our parents came in and we built Tudor houses using cardboard boxes. We then set fire to them to show how quickly the fire spread.
Have a look at the history tab on our class page for photos of our day.
Christmas carols
In class we are currently learning some Christmas carols to perform before Christmas.
You can practice these at home by using the PowerPoint attached.
On the PowerPoint, you will find the song lyrics with a link to each song.
We hope you enjoy practicing!
George and the Dragon
On Monday we had a dragon visit our classroom. Take a look under the English tab to see photos of what happened.
Our timetable
Reading
We would like everyone to try and read at least 3 times a week at home. It only needs to be for 10-15 minutes but this will really help you develop your reading skills further. We know that sharing books at home is an important part of learning to read.
You should have a RWI book that we have read 3 times at school. You might also have a RWI Book Bag book too. These books will be changed weekly and it is a good idea for you to read each book more than once to help you become a fluent reader. We have also sent home a Reading Record Card for you to use. It is very helpful if an adult can sign this and let us know what you have read at home. Please bring your Record Card and reading books to school each day in your book bag. We have a reading challenge in the classroom and we give out certificates and prizes, each time you read for 10 days at home!
Homework
Homework will be given out on Friday and should be handed in by the following Wednesday. We will give a house point for homework that is handed in on time. We always look forward to seeing the work you have done at home.
PE
Our PE lessons are on Monday and Tuesday each week. Please come to school in your PE kit on these days.
Our PE kit is:
- navy or black shorts.
- plain white T-shirt.
- plain navy or black sweatshirt and jogging bottoms for colder weather.
- trainers or plimsolls suitable for outdoor P.E.
