Welcome to our class page!
Mrs Hinson (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)
Mrs Jeyasingh (Thursday and Friday)
Our Year 2 TA's are:
Mrs Clegg and Mrs Louis
In class we are currently learning some Christmas carols.
You can practice these at home by using the PowerPoint attached.
On the PowerPoint, you will find the song lyrics with a link to each song.
We hope you enjoy practicing!
We arrived to complete chaos in our classroom this morning! Whilst looking for clues to find out what had happened, we saw:
- Burnt paper and ashes everywhere.
- Pens, pencils, books and whiteboards all over the floor.
- Chairs tipped over and tables pushed around.
- Claw marks all over our maths display. It had been ripped and ruined.
- Bins thrown around.
- Red paint on the doorframe.
- There was a smoky smell.
We think a dragon visited our classroom last night looking for food and a warm place to sleep!!
Please contact us if there is anything you wish to discuss. This email address is active between 9.00am and 3.30pm on school days. We will reply to messages as soon as we can.
We would like everyone to try and read at least 3 times a week at home. It only needs to be for 10-15 minutes but this will really help you develop your reading skills further. We know that sharing books at home is an important part of learning to read.
You should have a RWI book that we have read 3 times at school. This book will be changed weekly and it is a good idea for you to read each book more than once to help you become a fluent reader. We have also sent home a Reading Record Diary for you to use. It is very helpful if an adult can sign this and let us know what you have read at home. Please bring your Reading Record Diary and reading book to school each day in your book bag. We have a reading challenge in the classroom and we give out certificates and prizes, each time you read for 10 days at home!
Homework will be given out on Friday and should be handed in by the following Wednesday. We will give a housepoint for homework that is handed in on time. We always look forward to seeing the work you have done at home.
Our PE lessons are on Monday and Tuesday each week. Please come to school in your PE kit on these days.
Our PE kit is:
navy or black shorts
- white T-shirt
- navy school jumper and plain jogging bottoms for colder weather.
- trainers or plimsolls suitable for outdoor P.E.
- no patterns or logos.
