3 Mr Girling
Class Teacher: Mr Girling
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Singh.
This term in English, we are going to write stories inspired by Grandpa's Teeth - a story about Grandpa losing his teeth.
In maths we will be learning to use multiplication and division, especially learning the 3x, 4x and 8x times tables. We will also be learning to multiply a 3-digit number by a one digit number. You can improve your speed at times tables by playing the game Hit The Button.
Our topic this half-term is all about metals and magnets. How may metal things are there in your house? Do you have any magnets on your fridge? We will be finding out about the different types of metal - which is the strongest, which is the most expensive, or the rarest?
PE and Sport
PE lessons are on Monday and Friday afternoons. These are a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities. Pupils also take part in 10 minutes of running on each of the other days in what we call The Daily Mile.
Learning at home
Every Friday the pupils in year 3 will bring home some homework which is related to something they have been learning in school. Pupils should complete the homework and bring it back to school by the following Wednesday at the latest.
Pupils should also be reading at home regularly. We would like pupils to fill in the reading journal as evidence of their home reading.
