Sports day 2021
Current classroom learning:
Maths- The children have been learning about angles. How to measure, draw and read them.
Writing- The class wrote detailed character descriptions, after designing a villain. They drew their villain, acted out being a villain and created back stories. Many have been entered into a writing competition that is being run by Sure start Suffolk.
Reading- We have been annotating poetry, to gain a deeper understanding, as well as enjoying our class book 'The London Eye Mystery'.
Science- We have just finished out topic about the human body, how it works and how to take care of it. They created experiments to test heart rates and the effects that different exercises have on the body.
Topic- The class are enjoying out WW2 topic. We will currently be looking at where the bombs fell in Ipswich and then moving onto evacuation, Blitz, Commonwealth and the end of the war. We will then be moving onto 'Extreme Weather'.
Art- After finishing our Abstract art work, we have started our 'City Scape' topic. This involves using the key skills of line, tone as well as printing techniques.
PE- The children are currently working on their leadership skills. This involves them working in pairs, recruiting helpers, planning a lesson and running the session. During the process, I coach them on how to develop skills to lead.
DT- Mrs Donaldson is currently running workshops for small groups where the children have a chance to design and create a piece using DT tools.
