Reception Mr Philpot
Welcome to Mr. Philpot's Class Web page
In the mornings the children have been practising their handwriting after they have self-registered, placed their book bags in the box and hung-up their coats. Any additional handwriting practise at home, writing their names and writing simple CVC words, for example c/a/t will help. Some children might even want to write a sentence using rhyming words; 'the cat sat on the mat'.
The children are taught Read Write Inc. and taught to use their fingers to sound-out each sound in a word. Your child might be given a sheet or a book to take home to practise at home.
This term the children are learning number bonds to ten and twenty, Time, 2D and 3D shapes.
Our topic is Traditional Tails and this half term is 'The Magic Porridge Pot'.
P.E. is on a Friday. If your child wears earring, please remove them before coming to school and please ensure your child has their P.E. kit with them.
For the story of the Sleepy Bumblebee the children made a beehive for our display.
We like to play in the sand and some of us have made cakes!
I have attached work and links for your child to try over the next few weeks. Focus on phonics and maths as well as additional engaging activities for your child to try.
If you would like to try writing a basic program, try Scratch or you could use 'Blockly', this is a very easy to use.
