Children in Need Ramble 14.10.2025

Dear Families

Welcome back after the summer holidays. The children have settled in well and have been working hard. We are looking forward to the term ahead of us.

PE and Uniform

PE lessons will be on Mondays and Tuesdays. On these days, pupils should come to school wearing their PE kit. Please make sure earrings have been removed too. On all other days, pupils should wear school uniform. Please ensure that long hair is tied back at all times and jewellery is restricted to a pair of stud earrings and a watch.

Our uniform expectations remain the same. Please ensure you visit our school website which contains full information on what your child should wear each day.

Homework

  • Please encourage your child to read at least three times a week.
  • Your child will be set maths homework, building on what they have learnt over the week. This will be using the My Maths website. A letter has been sent home explaining how to use it. Please also encourage your child to practise their times tables with Tackling Tables.
  • Grammar homework will be emailed weekly to parents/carers and added to this page in the homework folder.
  • Please encourage your child to speak to their teacher as soon as possible if they need any support with the work that has been set.

Mobile phones

Your child is only allowed to bring their mobile phone to school if they walk home alone. They should turn their phones off when they enter the school premises and place their phone in the class bag first thing in the morning; this will be secured in the office for the day. Pupils will be able to retrieve their phone at the end of the day but should only switch them on once they have left the school premises. Any child found not respecting this, will have their phone taken off them and a parent will have to collect the phone from the school office.

Pencil cases

We will provide children with everything they need for their learning so please encourage them to leave their own pens, pencils and pencil cases safe at home. They may also need to be reminded to leave other toys and teddies at home too, as these can be easily lost at school.

Make up, nail varnish and scented lip balms

There have been a few issues already this term with girls bringing make up and scented lip balms to school; using them on the playground or bringing them in to class. Please remember that these items are not allowed in school.  Nail varnish or false nails are also not allowed.
