How do we support your child’s emotional and social development?
Our Behaviour Policy, which includes guidance on expectations, rewards and sanctions is understood and followed by all staff. A range of pastoral support is available for pupils who are encountering emotional difficulties. These include:-
- Members of staff – Pastoral Care Manager, class teachers, TAs and SENCO who are all readily available to children who wish to discuss issues and concerns.
- Morland has introduced a whole school Thrive Approach in order to support the growth of social and emotional skills and well-being. The aim is for the children to:
- feel secure
- enjoy friendships
- relate well to others
- be able to learn
- Interventions that focus on social and emotional development implemented by specialist trained staff.
- Break and lunch time nurture groups for those who need to access a quieter space.
- Access to The Oasis – a therapeutic space in school that is overseen by specialist Thrive practitioners.
