Maths

18.10.24

We are counting forwards and backwards to 100.

We have found doubles of numbers to 20.

We have made fact families for numbers:

3+4=7         7=3+4

4+3=7         7=4+3

7-4=3         3=7-4

7-3=4         4=7-3

We have added 3 single digit numbers together.

3+5+7=15

We have learned how to find the 'difference' between two numbers.

The difference between 8 and 5 is 3.

Part, part, whole

Systematic number bonds for numbers up to 10.

e.g. Systematic number bonds for 7:

0+7=7

1+6=7

2+5=7

3+4=7

4+3=7

5+2=7

6+1=7

7+0=7

We will use our number bonds for 10 to help us to find number bonds for 20.

e.g. 6+4=10

      16+4=20

We will create and solve number stories and problems.

  • First, there were 6 children on the bus. Then, 4 more children got on the bus. How many are there now?
  • Max has 8 sweets. He is given 5 more sweets. How many does he have now?
