Welcome from the Head Teacher

Welcome to Morland Church of England Primary School
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Morland Church of England Primary School.
We are a warm, welcoming and inclusive school at the heart of the Gainsborough community in South East Ipswich. At Morland, we want every child to feel valued, safe and happy, knowing that they are an important part of our school family. We are incredibly proud of our pupils and of the caring, dedicated staff who work together to help every child flourish.
Our school is underpinned by three important values: Respect, Kindness and Perseverance. We encourage our children to show respect for themselves, for one another and for the world around them; to demonstrate kindness and compassion in all that they do; and to persevere when learning or life presents them with challenges. These values are woven through our everyday school life and help our children to become confident, responsible and caring young people.
As a Church of England school, our Christian faith is at the heart of our vision and our approach to education. Our Biblical vision is:
“Through God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26
This reminds us that, with faith, encouragement and determination, we can overcome challenges and achieve things we may not have thought possible.
We celebrate the uniqueness of every child and seek to nurture not only their academic development, but also their character, confidence and understanding of the world around them.
We have high expectations for all our pupils and are committed to providing them with a strong education and a broad range of opportunities. Alongside excellent teaching and learning, we want our children to discover new interests, develop their talents and experience activities that inspire and challenge them. Through sport, the arts, music, visits, trips, clubs and wider enrichment opportunities, we aim to open children's eyes to the many possibilities beyond our school community.
We also want our pupils to develop a strong understanding of the wider world. We encourage curiosity about other people, cultures, communities and places, helping children to appreciate both the diversity of the world we live in and the contribution that they can make to it. We want our pupils to leave Morland as confident learners who are ready to embrace new experiences and make a positive difference.
We believe that children thrive when school and home work closely together. Our partnership with parents and carers is therefore incredibly important to us. By communicating openly, sharing successes and working together when challenges arise, we can provide the consistency, encouragement and support that children need to flourish. We warmly welcome parents and carers as partners in their children's education and hope that you will feel a valued part of our school community.
We are very proud of Morland Church of England Primary School and all that our pupils and staff achieve. I hope that our website gives you a sense of who we are, what we value and what makes our school special. If you would like any further information, or would like to find out more about our school, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to welcoming you to Morland.
