3/4 Mr Girling
Mr Girling's Class - Years 3 and 4
Welcome
Mr Giring's class is a mixed group of pupils from years 3 and 4. Our teaching assistants are Mrs Brabbin and Mrs Leeman.
Curriculum
In the Autumn term we will be covering a lot of different subjects. In English, we will be looking at the story of The Wild Girl. We will be using this story to inspire our own writing about a child who lives in the wilderness. In maths, we will be learning about place value with numbers up to 1,000 (year 3s) or 10,000 (year 4s). After that, we will be focussing on adding and subtracting.
This term, in geography, we will be studying the Arctic and how the climate is different to the UK. In history, we will be learning about the Roman Republic. In science, our class will be studying animals and how scientists categorise them into groups.
PE
This term our class will have PE every Tuesday with Mr Ablett. Pupils should wear:
- White t-shirt
- Black or Navy Blue Shorts, Jogging bottoms, or a Skort.
- School Uniform jumper or cardigan (not a hoody)
- Sports shoes.
Swimming
Our class swimming lessons are over for another year - but every pupil made good progress. Some pupils are now able to swim 15 or 25 metres in deep water while others are just learning to swim a width without touching the bottom. Well done to all the swimmers!
Religious Education
This term, pupils will be learning about Christianity. Our theme is: How does believing in Jesus as their Saviour inspire Christians to serve others?
