Our class is called Kestrels and our teacher is Mr Girling. Our teaching assistants are Mrs Singh and Mrs Vukovic.

This term our topics are Oceans (geography) and The Rise of Islam (history). In maths pupils will be learning to say, read and write numbers up to 1 million. They will also start to add and subtract 6-digit numbers both mentally and using a pencil and paper.

In writing, we will be learning about suspense fiction and how to keep the reader interested. We will start learning the words from the year 5 spelling list too. This term we will be reading The Unluckiest Boy in the World by Andrew Norriss.

In science, we will be studying materials and how their properties affect their use in building and making everyday objects.

In RE, the children will be learning about the Gospel and its meaning to Christians.

P.E.A tennis ball.

This term our P.E. lessons will be on Tuesday and Wednesday. Pupils should come to school wearing their P.E. kit. As the weather becomes colder, they should also bring a warm jumper or top to wear during other lessons. Note: when pupils have a sports club on a different day, for example football club on Friday, they should come to school in their normal uniform and get changed after the school day ends.
